There are a number of interesting things held at the stage area on Day2. The K-ON! Experience, BAKUC prize presentation, Atsuki GL Fashion Show and the Bushiroad Voice Actor appearance are those that I attended (sat/stand there to watch). Today was just filled with taking pictures of them Gunpla on display at the Bandai area. I don’t take photos of cosplay as I had a bad encounter with cosplay during the previous year’s AFA.
The K-ON! Experience
I have been looking forward to the K-ON! Experience ever since they announce it over at the AFA09 website. I’m sure a large number of people are also excited, as evident from the large crowd at the stage area, with all seats occupied and almost no standing space left. Shows the popularity of K-ON! in Singapore or South East Asia.
Photography was not allowed for this stage event, so I’ll just insert the official photos into this chunk of text.
The K-ON! Experience features questions for the K-ON! seiyuu by the fans. The emcee, Danny Choo, would ask the questions in English, followed by the female hostess (forgot the name) asking in Japanese.
The seiyuu for Hirasawa Yui (CV: Toyosaki Aki), Tainaka Ritsu (CV: Satou Satomi), Kotobuki Tsumugi (CV: Kotobuki Minako) and Nakano Azusa ( CV: Taketatsu Ayana) were present. Sadly, the seiyuu for Akiyama Mio, Hikasa Youko did not come.
A total of 5 questions were selected from the whatever amount that was submitted. Guess what, out of those 5 questions, my question, yes, the question that I submitted was asked second. What an awesome day this is. If I remember correctly, my question was “Is it difficult to portray your characters?” or something like that.
How often do you get your questions answered by seiyuu(s)? Unless you are an interviewer/journalist, the answer is most likely Zero chances.
For the whole of the K-ON! Experience, I stood leaning against the wall at the right. NO seats left. Even though we went to the stage area early to camp, apparently there were people earlier than us, seating there since the previous few stage events.
I can’t remember the other questions asked, so I can’t write them here. (Note to self: bring a note book and a pen for future events).
Toyosaki Aki was surprisingly(to me) taller than the rest of the seiyuu. Their real voices are kind of similar to their character voices. Especially Toyosaki Aki, you can recognise her voice anywhere (Lisa in The Sacred Blacksmith, etc).
A number of boards, signed by the seiyuu was up for grabs. Each seiyuu will call out a random seat number and the person seating on that seat will get it. Unfortunately for those people standing, nothing for them.
Can you spot which signature belongs to who?

There were booths set up, filled with artwork from various artists.
King of Knights by Xeph @pixiv
Didn’t take much pictures of the artwork.

BAKUC Prize Presentation
Unusable photo count: infinite
Can’t remember much of this. So I’ll just leave with you with a photo and a few words: A random dude appeared, another “guy” appeared. Winner went up the stage, get their trophy, “guy” commented on the winner’s creation. Repeat for x number of times. End.
ATSUKI GL Fashion Show
Sat through for the almost the whole of this stage event.
Short summary of this Fashion Show:
Human + Doll + Matching outfits + walk around stage + evil stage lighting = Atsuki GL Fashion Show.
Doesn’t interest me much. Might interest them Dollfie parents though.
ANISONG CONCERT DAY2
My first concert ever. Awesome.
First up: Fukuyama Yoshiki
Awesome rock singer he is. The speakers were hitting their max but the guitar still sounds fine. He sang a few songs, which again, I can’t remember which. Search him up on youtube.
DYNAMITE! EXPLOSION!
Next: May’n
MOTTEKE!
May’n. Awesome voice and songs. I became her fan the instant she sang her first song. Now a number of her songs sits in my iphone. The AFA committee should get better speakers, the speakers were reaching their limit playing back the wonderful and strong voices of this singers.
The Anisong concert ended with a few duets by May’n and Fukuyama Yoshiki.
This concert left a great impression on me. Being the first concert I ever attended and having an interest in Anisong and J-songs. It was an amazing experience, the lights, the artistes, the songs, the equipment, the crowd. Everything a first for me. Luckily I didn’t miss this concert even having missed the concert on Day 1, it was the right decision to stay.
AFA 09 ended with a bang for me, it was a gigantic improvement from the previous year’s AFA. I spent way more time at AFA09 compared to AFA08 where I just stayed for a few hours. The difference in ticketing price is, to me, worth it.
Can’t wait for AFA10, hopefully in Singapore again.
